Reality Check

In my mind I'm eternally 21. So I don't know at what point I started avoiding the weekend crowds at restaurants & movie theaters, started going to bed at a normal hour, and began enjoying bath towels and cookware as gifts. And don't even get me started on the changes in my body! Arthritis, sagging parts, carpal tunnel - at some point in time I stopped worrying about my social life and started worrying about 401(k)'s and health insurance. I'm certainly not complaining because I am in a much better place in life now than I was at age 21, and I know I'm not old - I guess I'm just amazed at how dramatically life perspective can change in a short matter of time.

Anyway, on to a better and cuter subject... Ashlyn is holding her own bottle now and I'm so excited. These small and simple steps are just so dramatic in a new mother's world. Even though it makes me a little sad every time I pack away an old size of clothes or watch her grow a tiny bit closer toward independence, it makes me so proud that she is and it is so fun to watch her be amazed by the simplest things. Fans and lights are the best! Watch out with the hair though, once she gets a handful you're not getting half of it back. I'm not sure I'm quite ready for her to be at the grabbing stage yet. Ready or not...

We're working on tummy time more. She's so content to lay on her back and look around, I'm getting worried about her head being flat. She's getting more used to the tummy, but still not rolling much. If she tries really hard, she can go from tummy to back and then she doesn't want to go anywhere else.

She's definitely her daddy's girl. I think it's cute that she looks like him - we just wish her hair would grow like his!

Hope ya'll are doing well & thanks for checking in. Take care!

She'll get rolling soon enough. Enjoy this time when she's not into everything!!! :o) She's so precious, Ra'Shelle. I can tell you're a great mom because she seems so content.

Yeah for babies who can't roll over (very well), and I can say that because mine didn't either. Sorry to hear about the traumatic weekend and hopefully everything works out. Glad to see that you are eternally 21. See I am the other way around, I get older and everyone else stays the exact same.
