"Tah Bah!"

Thought this shirt might make Grandpa Pulsipher proud - Get her started early!

Ashlynisms:

"My Do It!" - The sound of independence.

What's Your Name? - "Mashlyn Pulper"

How Old Are You? - "Two - Haf"

You're Silly! - "No, Mashlyn"

"Mom, Whe Ah You?" Hollering throughout the house. Then I'll answer, and she'll say, "Oh,........kay". - This happens several times a day, over and over again. Is she that paranoid of being left alone?
"Mom, doing?", "Dad, doing?" - She has always been an observant & curious child.
She says her favorite color is "Pik", though she loves to pick out "Balue" right now.
Her favorite shape is "Circle" and she says it while motioning her hand/arm in a circular pattern. At night time, we have to make up songs about circles to sing. Then she'll say that she's "Happy" with a big ol' smile on her face.
"Yesss" was the affirmative answer when she was really trying to emphasize her 's' - but she has recently shortened her answers to "Yep" and "Nope".
She still can't go to bed without her "Ginkie" (binkie/pacifier),
and she loves to have play dates with her "Pends".
"I Tall" - Climbing on top a stack of daddy's carpet sample boxes.

"Tah Bah" - She proudly proclaims as she stretches her arms out for an exciting accomplishment.

She knows how to make her proud parents smile, that's for sure!

We spent the first week of September with Derek's parents in St. George. It's becoming a tradition to spend Labor Day Weekend there. We had a good and relaxing time....

Playing in the rocks...Going for Walks with Grandma...Catching up on some reading...Having a yummy dinner at the Olive Garden to celebrate my birthday....For those of you that are counting, it is 28 (Yes, again.....for the 4th year in a row.....).

And went to the mall for some driving lessons....
My Dad & Virginia met us in Cedar City for dinner one night and it was so great to see them for a while. I hate being that close to "home" and not being able to see everyone so I really appreciate that they came down.

I also got to meet up with my cute cousin Sarah and her fiance who happened to be in town that weekend visiting his brother, so that was lots of fun and a bit entertaining as Ashlyn climbed into the water fountain while we were talking. Someone should really keep an eye on that kid!

The week was soon over and it was time to start our journey home. With a stream of extremely slow Labor Day traffic into the valley that set us back 2 hours, it took about ten hours to make the drive. Not fun, but I must say that our little bug was such a trooper in the car. It helped that we made a few stops to break up the monotony of the drive. The Burger King Playground in Page, AZ proved to be a hit...

Ashlyn was having such a good time, that Daddy decided he'd give it a whirl...
My two "Kids"... Now, how are you going to get out of there, Daddy?
Well, that's one way to do it!
Derek will be less than thrilled that I've included these pics, but it was too funny not to share.

We're so excited that the weather has finally cooled off enough that we can spend time outside without it being a health hazard. Ashlyn's definitely taking advantage of the great climate & loves to play in the yard. She always wants to take her bike in the front to ride with the big kids on the street & it breaks her heart when she can't go out with them. For the most part, she's content to dig in the gravel as if it were a sandbox. She's always motioning & asking us to come play. "Pay, 'mon, 'mere" (Play, come on, come here). It's lonely being the oldest/only child. Who can say no to those blue eyes?

I don't know why this started, but her latest thing is taking out all of the kitchen towels to use as blankets. Yes, she has plenty of actual blankets, but she insists on using the towels to pretend that she and her baby dolls are going "Nigh, Nigh". The other night she covered me from neck to toe in kitchen towels and I had to play sleeping. She sang me Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to put me to bed.The dolls are becoming a permanent accessory. Last week she snuck them in to the bathtub.
The big red mark on her arm is a reaction to a bug bite. We've learned to keep benadryl on hand for her sensitive skin.

Just chillin' in the waiting room at the doctor.
Derek & Ashlyn both had a bad cold & sore throats last week. As if that weren't enough - if you look closely under her left eye, you can see the big ol' black & blue shiner that Ashlyn got after hitting her face on the coffee table (probably jumping from it), and on her lip is where she broke out with a cold sore. Not her best week, though she took it all in stride.

After dinner a couple nights ago, Ashlyn went upstairs to watch Dora before bedtime. A bit later, she came back down holding my eyeshadow case looking like this...Of course she would find my best brush and the darkest eyeshadow possible. I told her she looked like her grandpa (my Dad) when he was a chimney sweep! She was so proud.... "Cheek"! She should have been in trouble, but we couldn't stop laughing so I grabbed the camera then took her straight to the bathtub. What did we ever do for entertainment before this kid?!

Tah Bah! She does tricks just like Mark. They'd be quite a pair. It is really hard to get mad at them when they're so innocent - and proud of what they've done. She's just precious!
