Animal Attraction!

We've had the Christmas decorations up for weeks now and have been listening to the music for even longer. That's the way we roll around the Pulsipher house - got to make the season last as long as possible!
So we were driving the other day and "The Little Drummer Boy" came on the radio. Through the rear view mirror I can see Ashlyn in the back seat. As always, she had her baby doll with her and kept patting the doll's back side. I finally asked her what she was doing, and she said as she nodded & sang along with the music....."Bum, bum, bum, bum".......... Nice.
I've got a lot to catch up on since I haven't found time to post over the last while, so here goes...

For our October Family Fun Day, we went to the Arizona State Fair. What a long day, but is was sure lots of fun. Ashlyn had quite the good time. Her favorite part is a toss up between the animal petting zoo and the kiddie rides. "Wee, Fun, I Tall," she kept saying with a huge smile on her face.

After several doctor appointments and a few sleep studies, things are finally looking up for both Derek and I. Ends up that we both have Sleep Apnea and now we get to look a little something like this at night.... sexy, I know. I don't care what it looks like, I feel like an entirely different person than I did months ago. I can't believe the snowball effects it can have on your health, and I was feeling pretty bad for a while. Guess that's what happens when you stop breathing 70 times an hour! I was classified as severe after being in the sleep study for only a few hours. Poor Derek had to go in twice, stopped breathing an average of 27 times an hour, and finally got his CPAP machine last week. No more snoring coming from our room!

Ashlyn didn't quite know what to make of Halloween this year. Neither did I, for that matter. I was so excited, nervous, and proud of the way her Minnie Mouse costume turned out. I'm not a great seamstress, so it was quite a feat! Our ward trunk or treat was on Friday the 29th. By the time we got over there running on Ra'Shelle standard time and dragging a husband who went in protest, we had to park two blocks away down a side street. We knew that our ward and had split the parking lot with another ward, but there was also a big event going on at the school right next door, so that neighborhood was a mad house. Half the ward was already running out of candy, and we were only there for about 20 minutes. Just enough time to get candy to give a toddler a sugar high for a week, and then we came back home. Kept thinking we'd take her back out to trick or treat around the neighborhood, but that didn't happen 'cause no one went around on Saturday and I didn't want to take her out on Sunday - so, didn't she look cute for the 1/2 hour she was in costume?!

My mom flew in that same weekend to come visit for a week. We had a lot of fun with Grandma Vonnie & was so excited to have her here.

We got frosties from Wendy's...
Made yummy Banana Bread...

Went back to the State Fair where they had cattle on display. This baby calf was born just an hour or two before we got there...

Ashlyn had a fabulous time feeding the animals again...

Hangin' out with Grandma...Going on more fun rides...

Playing Golf with Daddy...

What's a fair without a Carousel Ride?... It was so much fun to have Grandma here and hard to see her go. Ashlyn was so mad on the way to the airport that she kept pouting and wouldn't talk.

In other news..... a empty bag of chocolate chips was discovered on the kitchen floor. Who could the culprit be?...
Mommy's little "Angel"...

For our November Family Fun Day, we decided to go to the Phoenix Zoo. Turned out to be an incredible day and we had a lot of fun. Ashlyn kept asking to see the Giraffes.

She LOVED the train ride!
Suddenly my toddler has become a little girl. She still refuses to look to the camera when I take pictures most the time, but I don't think she's old enough to know what this means so I'm hoping this "bird" was completely inadvertent.

We stayed here and had a very quiet Thanksgiving. Tried inviting a few people over, but everyone seemed to have plans, or at least that's what they told us anyway, hmmm.... So after cooking a 19 pound turkey and all the good fixins, we've been eating leftovers for four days. I haven't heard any complaints though I think we're good on the turkey dinner for a while.

We are going to Utah over the Christmas holiday. So excited for a White Christmas and to spend it all with family. No more of these palm trees and sunshine in winter!
Here's wishing that all your Christmas Dreams Come True!

I'm so glad you both got your C-PAP machines. It really does make a difference in how you feel (so I've been told) and it's 3just plain dangerous to leave apnea untreated. Ashlyn is looking so grown-up - and adorable! Mark's helping me type so it'll be a miracle if there are no mistakes! I hope you had a great Thanksgiving. Take care and if you get a chance, look me up while you're in Utah. :o)
