She finally went down for her afternoon nap the other day. About a half an hour later she was in there moaning and whining, though I thought she would fall back asleep so I waited a few minutes. After a bit I went it to see what was going on. Ashlyn had sat up and backed herself into the corner. She was sitting there hunched over and half asleep. She knows how to get up, but doesn't know how to get back down. It's pretty funny and incredibly frustrating.
Guess there's no turning back now....she's figured out she can move.
I hate admitting when everyone else is right. So I'm finally ready to confess that we jumped in way over our heads when we got the new puppy along with moving to a new state, a new job, getting a new house, and expecting a new baby.
I found Donovan a new home last week. It certainly wasn't a light-hearted or easy decision. It was getting way too hard to give him attention along with Ashlyn starting to learn to crawl, etc... I miss him & it's been a bit lonely but I know he's with a great family and getting all the love and attention he deserves. We learned that Derek really doesn't love dogs and they require A LOT of work and attention. We'll reconsider when all our kids are old enough, but for now I'm looking on the bright side. It's been nice to not have to worry about him mauling Ashlyn with kisses and not having to vacuum pet hair off the floor.
Tonya - I took your advise and we're just now trying out the Baby Einstein videos. Not quite sure what she thinks of them yet. My question for everyone is: Have you tried them with your kids and what's your opinion???
Well, that's about all our excitement for now. Take care and thanks for checkin' in!

Ashlyn is such a sweetheart! If you think she's into everything now, just wait until she's crawling, walking, CLIMBING!!! It'll hit you before you know it! Just enjoy every little moment because they grow up so quickly! As for the Baby Einstein videos, I don't get them, but for some reason the little ones do. My older kids never watched them, but my sister-in-law popped one in for my baby, Jolie, a few months ago and she was mesmerized!
Ellia was stuck in that stage forever!!! I was constantly laying her back down, it was even worse for us when she started standing.... but now that she is walking, I don't see what atll the fuss is, everyone said that our world be forever changed. I LOVE IT!
As for Baby Einstien. Ellia will have nothing to do with them, and we have 3 DVDs. She LOVES Signing Time though.
Too cute! I love how when they figure out something new but can't reverse what they did. She'll figure it out soon enough. Just wait! If you think how she tore apart the stuff by the entertainment center was bad, you're in for trouble. :o)
We love Baby Einstein. Madelyn was a huge fan from day one and still doesn't mind watching them with Spencer. Spencer on the other hand, was so into them to begin with, then again the kid didn't have the attention span to sit for more than a minute or two. Now, he loves them and is always asking to watch them. He has actually learned quite a bit from them. They are wonderful, granted Spencer has now scratched most of ours but they still work.
Sorry to hear about Donovan, but at least you know that he is in a good home.
Now there is really no turning back for you!! She is getting so big and cute! Before you know it she will be crawling around and into even more things! It is so much fun though, I love it! Maci is starting to take steps now so I'm just waiting for her to take off! Maci likes the videos!
So much fun it is amazing how fast they grow up. Gracie and I loved the Baby Einstein videos, but Gracie was a very needy baby and sometimes that was the only 45 minutes a day I got things done. But she was also a TV watcher so they worked for her. Shirln
Hey Ra'Shelle! Your blog is cute! I can't believe how big your baby is. She is a cutie! Anyway... Baby Einstien videos... my kids LOVED them when they were babies. In fact, Brylee (3 yrs old) still loves them!
