Wild Child & Wacky Weather

Last week was a bit crazy around here. Seems that when Utah gets snow storms, the Arizona Dessert is getting thunderstorms. There was actually a tornado watch which was incredibly unusual. We had record-high winds and our landscaping was proof of the hazardous aftermath. I wish we would have taken pics of the trees. Tues. & Thurs. nights were the worst. We lost a tree in each storm so we're down to three of our original five. Just when we thought they were growing and doing so well! Apparently the drip system was put in too close to the trunks so the roots didn't have to grow far for the moisture. Shallow roots & tall, top-heavy trees added to a wind storm do not equal up.

When it rains like that, everything around here floods. The roads are blocked off & the communities are made with water retention areas so the homes don't get flooded. These pics were taken on Saturday - yes, days later. This is a main four-lane highway by the new high school & beneath the lake at the side is normally a cotton field. This is a reminder of why basement homes are not built here.

Ashlyn is just getting so much fun - and a bit more exhausting, too. How can a kid be so adorable one moment and then turn around & push every nerve button possible? Time out sessions are becoming a lot more frequent at the Pulsipher house.

Oh, and no - potty training has not quite taken place yet. Nothing to do with Ashlyn. We have the pull-ups, we have the panties, we even have a chart.......I am the one that hasn't quite been ready for the full commitment. I'm hoping to take a few days this next week to be able to just stay at home, block everything else out, and dedicate that time solely to baby girl and the bathroom. Yah, we'll see how that goes since I said several weeks ago that we were going to give it a shot. Wish us luck!

Since things have been kinda crazy with all of the falling trees, Relief Society stuff, babysitting, meetings, and being cooped up indoors because of all the rain - Ashlyn has been finding a few ways to keep herself entertained....

Like trying to fill Daddy's shoes (it's a big job)....
Tasting bubbles in the bathtub.....
FYI - not a good idea. It causes stomach aches and bed sheets to be changed - yuck! Then there's the ever popular.....Hiding in a cupboard.
Or, stripping down, putting on Daddy's hat, stand on top of whatever happens to be around, and then doing a dance will always guarantee a good laugh....

Hope you're finding plenty of ways to keep yourself entertained. Thanks for checkin' in and have a Fantastic Day!

How exciting! Wish there was something exciting going on up here...we didn't get as much snow as I would like...Probably only a couple of inches or so that ended up melting.
