Us: "Ashlyn, how old are you?Ash: "Two - Haf"
Us: "It's your birthday. How old do you turn on your birthday?"
Ash: "Two - Four!"
We went through this for about a week. I think she's finally got the idea that she is now "free" years old. Our poor child is going to be under the happy delusion that Christmas is celebrated with an entire week of present opening, and that her birthday is a weekend long event.
We had a Minnie Mouse themed birthday party with a few of her neighborhood/ward friends on Friday. Ashlyn was super excited when she woke up and found balloons & decorations just for her.

And the cake goes up a bit higher out of reach...
We decorated bracelets made out of foam. Everyone had a pair of mouse ears to wear instead of a party hat. I was so proud of the idea & spent all that time making them only to find it was not nearly as successful as I'd hoped. Oh, well.... I think the kids had fun anyway. Ashlyn sure loved having her friends over & getting the attention.

What a fun little party!
On Saturday, we had a family fun day - went to take Ashlyn's 3 yr pictures, then went to the mall. She got to ride the carousel, look at the puppies in the pet shop, and get some ice cream.
Ashlyn's actual birthday was on Sunday, Jan. 30th. Her daddy got her dressed for church. What a little princess!
Obviously not high enough....
The poor cake did not hold up very well with sticky little fingers around.
We finally sang to her that night and she got to open presents. She was so excited for her little people play sets & the pink castle.
Happy Birthday Sweet Baby Girl!
