I know, I know....my parents were asking the same thing about me for the first three years. Sounds like we might be stuck with tiny barrettes and hair bands for a while.
Ash even has a nick-name for her daddy, she calls him "Bubba". She knows who he is and has been able to say "dad" or "dada" forever, but she refuses to call him that. We ask her to say mommy, she says "momma". Then we ask her to say "daddy" and she says "Bubba". I point to him and say 'who's that?' and she answers "Bubba". It's so darn funny and cute, but Derek's not too fond of the name. It makes me laugh 'cause she does it just to tease him.
In other news....
September has been a busy month. To start it off, I turned 30. Didn't think it was going to be a big deal, but I was having a hard time with it in the weeks leading up. Then it came and went and I've discovered the big perk........I got a discount on auto insurance....yay! It's in my head, I know, but I have to admit that I do feel older now. And not that I would change the course of my life one bit, but it is weird to see people my age that have 12 year olds! Oh, well.
For Labor Day Weekend we met Derek's parents in St. George. He was going to surprise me with this little vacation for my birthday, but has a hard time keeping secrets so I knew about it in advance. It was really nice and relaxing. Much better than the horrible, got everyone sick with the flew vacation we took there over Memorial Day. Derek did surprise me and we both got great massages. Tonya was working in Cedar City that week and it was great that she came down and we hung out for a night, getting the fastest pedicures in history! We hung out at the pool, went to do Temple work & found out it was closed for cleaning, and rented a few movies. My sister, brother-in-law, and their sweet girls surprised us and were able to come down on Sunday for a while. Tyrell had arranged to pick up a bull in the area just so that they could come visit - that was awesome! Then my Dad and Virginia came that Sunday as well and we had a great visit and dinner. Connie and Steve celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary on the 4th - Congratulations! They are wonderful in-laws and I am so blessed to be a part of their family.
Randomness....
Hmmm...what else has been going on? Well, Relief Society and ward stuff has been pretty hectic, as usual. I'm just glad I was switched a few months ago from the enrichment counselor to education - much less stressful. We have a great ward and neighbors. It's very comforting to have people to turn to when we're away from family.
I can't wait for General Conference next weekend. Been a bit burned out lately and it will be good for rejuvenation.
It's still stinkin' hot here and I can't wait for this summer to end. I know it's technically fall, but when it was 95 degrees at 11:00 this morning, it sure doesn't feel like it.
How do kids fit so much energy into such small packages? Ashlyn is constantly on the go. I shouldn't complain 'cause she is still a pretty good napper. We can't let her out of our sight, though.
We're continually getting her off of chairs, the coffee table, the kitchen table, the top of the couch, out of the toilets, away from the entertainment center, and anything else she can get to. I have found relief in the Disney Channel morning shows -so if that keeps her busy for an hour or so while I can get ready for the day, I have no problem sticking her in front of the TV. Yup, eating my words yet once again.
These pics are from our Pulsipher Family Fun Day last weekend. We just wondered around the outdoor mall, went to Costco, and then to the Olive Garden.
As you can see, Ash sure enjoyed dinner!
Off to finish laundry and get ready for a few days in Show Low.
Have a Great Day!

Happy Belated Birthday! Now you've entered the realm of oldness like me! :o) KIDDING! It seems crazy, though, that we're in our thirties!
Ashlyn is so sweet and so smart! I can tell you work with her a lot. She's absolutely adorable!
