All About Ashlyn

So many changes are happening on a daily basis in Ashlyn's little life that I wanted to document some of them here before it all changes again. Of course I haven't been on top of the scrapbooking as planned, so this is mostly for grandparents and journal purposes. I used to work in Early Childhood Education. It will probably sound a lot like a progress report (old habits die hard), here goes...

Age: 13 months, 1 week

At 12 Month Dr. Visit:
Height: 30 3/4 in. , 90%
Weight: 21.2 lbs., 50%
Head: 18 in., 70%

Clothing Size: She has a long torso & shorter legs, so she's wearing size 18mo. tops and fits into 12mo. pants. I give her choices & she loves to pick out what to wear each day.

Shoes: Size 3 -that is when I can get her to keep them on - as soon as we get in the car, off come the socks and shoes - sound familiar, Mom?

Looks: We get comments all the time how much she looks like her daddy. I don't mind 'cause I think he's pretty cute. She has my coloring and his facial features.
She climbed her way up on the couch the other day and slyly made her way to the window to play with the cord. I snapped a couple photos before getting "mad" and getting her down.

Hair: Blond- she still has a mullet, we're waiting for that top hair to grow in.
Eyes: Bright Blue
Teethe: 5 now, yay! 2 on top & 3 on bottom - that's just in the last month, in her 12 month photos she only had two bottom teethe.
Favorite Foods:
Lucky Charms - she likes to pick out & eat the marshmallows first
Bananas - she'll eat a whole one in a matter of minutes
Milk
Goldfish Crackers
Waffles - she'll eat two in a sitting. She certainly doesn't go hungry! When eating something she likes, she'll moan the whole time saying "mmmmmmm."
Talking: 3 distinct words so far (in her own babbling way)
"Mom"
"Dad"
"Thank You"
She's just started saying "Mom" and "Dad" more often and with meaning. Yesterday morning was so cute. She woke up (happy as usual) and stood at the end of the crib yelling out "Momma" then "Dadda" a couple different times till I came to get her. Then she was all smiles.
Sign Language: we've been working on it and she has a few signs down - the actions are a little off, but we know what she means
"Please" - This is her sign for most things right now...whenever she wants food, or when we ask her "What do you say", she'll sign "Please"
Waving "Hi" and "Bye,Bye"
"All Done"

Walking: Everywhere & faster each day. Still not standing up from sitting but she'll crawl over to an object, pull herself up, and then walk where she wants to go.

Favorite Toys:
Push/Ride Along Train
The Stairs (still) - she loves to sit on the edge then stand up and scare her daddy. It's a little amusing 'cause she mostly does it only when he's around and gives a reaction - he hates it :)
Her little white Prayer Bunny - a gift from Uncle Morgan - she loves to sleep with it!
The Kitchen Chairs - still a great furniture organizer, I find them all over the floor.
Tupperware Lids - again end up all over the kitchen floor amidst the chairs.
Anything she can crawl into or on top of.
We made this little playhouse to try and keep her occupied.

Other Sweetness Factors:
She puts her arms up to be held now - soooo cute
She loves attention - who can blame her?
t6nfg .,, - She likes to help me type
She is friendly & has smiles for everyone
She's very observant of everyone & everything around her
She's a big tease (cute now, but I'm sure not so much in the future)

What a sweet kid. We are so lucky and blessed to have you in our lives, Ashlyn! We Love You!

What a cutie! Isn't it fun as they learn more things? I'm sure she's a ton of company for you now. I'm impressed with the signing and vocabulary that girl has!
